Hello!
My name is Tamara Shade, and I’m the proud owner Shades of Sapphire Ragdolls, LLC. Although I have always loved animals, my affinity for the breed began when I adopted a pet ragdoll named Caraline. I fell madly in love with everything about her, and in 2016, decided that I wanted to do my part in furthering the longevity of this magnificent breed. Initially my cattery was called “That Darn Cat - Ragdolls,” but I made the decision in 2021 to rebrand and expand, purchasing new cats more closely aligned to the breed standard and dedicating myself to managing one of the highest-quality catteries in the state of Ohio. Today, I work towards producing kittens that meet the qualifications set by registry organizations CFA (Cat Fanciers Association) and TICA (The International Cat Association), the latter of which we are registered with. Shades of Sapphire specializes in colorpoint, mitted, bicolor, and lynx-marked cats in the colors of seal, chocolate, blue, lilac, flame, cream, and tortoiseshell, all with traditional coats.
All of our kittens are raised underfoot with ample love and affection, with a particular focus on their health, wellness, and sociability. Birthing mothers and young kittens are cared for in our home, while the remainder of the cats are housed in a newly-built, fully-customized outdoor facility that hosts an abundance of toys, play structures, television, and—of course—automatic litterboxes! We spend a great deal of personal time with our kings and queens, making sure they are as spoiled and socialized with their humans as they are with their fellow felines. For the health and safety of both our cats and ourselves, we are not showing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
